Cavity Free Corral A generous grant from the United Ways of Texas allowed us to create an education program that teaches children and adults the importance of proper nutrition and oral hygiene habits. TDA Smiles Foundation is happy to fund the costs of providing these educational materials, as disease prevention is the first step in creating healthy smiles.  CE Sponsorship TDASF funds expenses and hosts the clinician for one continuing education (CE) course each May during the Texas Dental Association's annual session, The TEXAS Meeting, in San Antonio. Recent well-attended sessions include Dr. John Yagiela's Optimizing Pain Control: Advances in Local Anesthesia; Dr. Stanley Malamed's Emergency Medicine; Dr. Denis Lynch's Diagnosis & Treatment of Recurrent Oral Ulcers; and Dr. Corky Wilhite's Porcelain Veneers: Systemic Approach for Predictable Success. Laboratory Technician Scholarship TDASF funds an annual scholarship to a student pursuing a dental laboratory technician career at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.    Dental Student Scholarships Beginning in 2004, TDASF began awarding a scholarship to a freshman student entering each of the three Texas dental schools - Baylor College of Dentistry, Texas A&M University System in Dallas, the University of Texas Dental Branch, Houston; and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Dental School. Recipients are selected with preference to outstanding excellence in scholarship.    Educational Materials TDASF funds printing costs for oral health educational brochures and information for distribution at our Texas Mission of Mercy events.
